It's more than a little fast for comfort (didn't someone murmur
"interoperability testing" somewhere recently?), but not terribly
surprising. For personal purchase, I'd really rather wait a bit.

I doubt any of the major players voted yes on V.90 without having working
code that implemented their understanding of what they voted yes on. [It's
far less clear that they all understood the same thing.]

That Rockwell was able to ship so quickly suggests there weren't any
significant last-minute adjustments to the meetings-of-the-minds from last
December. To me, it also suggests that those shipments will appear in the
field as problem modems. I suppose I could have Diamond upgrade my Supra
56e (version 0.114) with this shipment, so that it continues to be a
problem...it's a decent V.34+ modem, though.
