ADSL will have minimal effect on 56k modem technology. It is too range
sensitive and too expensive. If you think people are having problems with
56K, _DSL is much more restrictive. The telcos could have put _DSL in
service 10 years ago. Heck, the telcos could own the cable and ISP
markets if they were not totally incompetent.

Worry more about the small neighborhood ISP who does a better job than
you than the telco. Or if you see it happening, start a CLEC and offer
ADSL yourself via your CLEC division.
