(PM) AUTHENTICATION VERY SLOW

I am using a Livingston Portmaster Model: PM2E and a server running Linux
Slackware with Radius installed. However, of late I face a problem where
by
authentication of users takes an unnecessarily long time. I tried
rebooting the portmaster but that has not solved anything.

Any advice ?????
