Get a ticket into support. This looks more like an RMA issue, then
strictly software but hard to say. If this was a memory problem, the
watchdog should reboot the PM.

Are you saying that you _saw_ the nbufs at 800? Or that it was acting
like it could have been? Just curious, since this sort of defines the
issue a little.

Well RADIUS has its own logs files for accounting purposes which should be
on your authentication host. If you set the global "loghost" you should
also get syslog messages from the portmaster for logins/logouts, etc.
