There are TWO directoy numbers assigned to the PRI, all channels hunting.
(Two because the second is a "phantom POP" that expands my local calling
area). When I dial the directory numbers from a POTS line, I'm getting
either an intercept that tells me that the "number has been disconnected or
is no longer in service" (when I dial the "phantom" number) or a
double-fast busy (when I dial the "real" number). The telco techs in
Denver get the same result.
They are blaming this on the PM-3, claiming I need to tell the PM-3 to
"bring the B channels up". I've searched high and low through the PM-3
documentation and cannot find this function -- it looks like the CSU/DSU
portion of it is completely undocumented, and therefore automatic.
When I do "show s1" the status is: DCD- CTS+ TELCO+ so *I* believe that
the PM-3 is functioning properly (it seems to have telco signal
recognition). The ports are all set as: "set all login network dialin",
etc.... (essentially followed the instructions in Chapter 19 of the PM-3
Configuration Guide).
Is the telco full of it? Have they misprogrammed their switch, or is there
indeed something wrong in my PM-3 config? Thanks!
