The customer has a new Acer Aspire model 1210 with a Rockwell K56 Plug and
Play modem and can get connected at 40-44K, but soon gets dropped by the
portmaster, but his modem does not know that it has been hung-up on and
will keep his phone line off-hook until a power cycle of the computer.
I went through all the obvious things to try - make sure all settings are
correct, remove and reinstall DUN, make sure the all setting under network
are correct, etc. This is really puzzling especially since he can connect
OK to Acers own BBS to register his computer. It seems like it might be a
K56Flex issue, but I am not sure where to go from here.
