LANQuest, an independent test lab, ran an access concentrator
benchmark test on the PortMaster 3, Ascend Max 4048, and 3Com/USR
Total Control. Each access concentrator was tested supporting up to
23 56K modem connections over PRI, and the PortMaster 3 demonstrated
superior aggregate throughput: 232% more than the Max and 29% more
than the Total Control. The PortMaster 3 was the only unit that
scaled linearly, fully supporting all 23 56K modem connections.
