I have always wondered this: Is it better to set up your modems on a PM2 to
be dumb, answer on 1st ring, hardware flow control OR use a modem string in
the modem table?

I thought that a dumb modem set up correctly would be better but now am not
so sure with all this modem string talk on the list.

I ask this because of the "USERNAME" hung modem problem. Would one be
better than another to eliminate, or reduce, this USR behavior?
