Whoa - that assumption is way, way off base. Why would you even think that?

PPP receive, bad CRC, modem M1 - that's basically what it says, just a
bit denser.

It means you got a PPP packet that failed it's CRC check, that's all.
On Modem M1 in this case. It might be a connection with no error correction.
Or it might have just been line noise or something along those lines.
