(PM) Telepath and CRC errors driving me crazy

Have a user with a Gateway Telepath X2 modem. Connects OK, and doesn't have
any complaints, but any time I spend teletted into a PM-3 with one of these
modems is driving me crazy with it's incessant

(S12)PPP recv: BAD CRC - mdp M10

It first shows up after I do a set console when doing debugging, but no
matter what I do after that it's still parading by, on and on and on.....

All the connections that behave like this seem to be X2 telepaths (USR OEM
as far as I know), and they show compression to be NONE and protocol to be
DIRECT on a sh mod. Near as I can tell they are wasting half their
bandwidth on resending data, but it definitely drives me nuts having this
info parade by constantly.

Maybe what I'm asking for is a way to turn off the reporting of the CRC
errors, but whatever it takes, someone else has got to have seen this and
had it drive them bonkers too, so I figure someone has a fix short of
hooking an extension cord up to their demarc box on their house for 10
seconds while they're online.
