The pinout on a T1 jack uses pins 1 and 2 for the receive pair and pins 4
and 5 for the send pair. The pinout for 100Mb Ethernet uses 1 and 2 for
receive, 3 and 6 for transmit. The color coding for the wiring is different
and it is possible that the Ethernet cables don't have pins 4 and 5
connected to anything. Having said all that --- The Ethernet cable seemed
to work fine for me.
