OK , Spelling aside.
We have found that those few that have a CO with Siemens Switches have
to get the following done inorder to get a connection speed above 33.6.
This all on the Telco side, not Livingston.
1. A Desac level engineer or High level Engineer Repair Tech.
2. The iner- office Siemens Options, C-loss configurations, a
Matrix-Fix needs to be done.
3. If they have no idea what you are saying, then you need to press for
the engineer to contact the Siemens Manufacture Rep.
4. There is a configuration for individual lines that are needed to be
done as well(yes everyone calling in). It is called Coslac( maybe Coslak) .
The Coslac setting depends on how far you are from the CO ( under 10,000ft
or over 10,000ft). This to be done by any customer that wants the line
quality needed to get 56k connections! ( Not by the ISP) Some of the Telcos
have this already done this installation ( our Telco was supposed to be
Doing it, but we found that they were not).
What they are doing is setting the signal within the office Siemen
Switches.
It is a padding done within the switch itself! Not before or After the
switch.
There are Siemens Company Reps working with the COs for this specific
problem( as told by my Telco engineer ).
As to this helping with other types of Switching we don't know, and your
engineer would be the one to ask ( I got my answers about a month after we
asked!)
One Thing that is also showing up is the fact that our average speeds of
regular connections have also increased! (more 31200 and 33.600).
Last but not the least, our Teco engineer is willing to work with anyone
dirrectly
if they are an Ameritech customer. Hows that for service?

Well thats my 2 1/2 cents In Lovely Downtown Lapeer
