I am sure that a few users do hangup improperly, however, I started
monitoring the termination cause because we have had complaints of
intermittent disconnects from our users.
After eliminating bad modems, misconfigured DUN and other
possibilities, we are still getting 25% Lost-Carrier as the cause of
terminations.
I understand that the Portmaster will interpret improper hangup and
crashes as lost carrier, but 25% of all terminations seems a bit
excessive, even taking into consideration computer crashes and lockups.
What percentage of total terminations is it reasonable to expect
whold be caused by Lost-Carrier?
Thanks in advance for any and all help.
