About 80% of the time, it connects to my PM3 w/ the new modems, but when
it does, it takes a LONG time to get there. Lots of staticky noise after
the expected beeps. When it connects it almost always gets 28.8K/19.2K.
I have seen a couple of 31.2K/21.6K's, one 38K and one 42K, but both of
those dropped before I could check the transmit rates. The other 20% of
the time, it doesn't connect at all.
I dialed up to another local ISP with identical equipment and had the
same results. I also dialed up to the Ascend and Motorola test sites.
Ascend gave me a 33.6K connection, and Motorola a 42K. I also has
someone dial my PM3 with a Jaton, and it gave a 42K connection.
Prior to installing the new modem cards, this modem was always connecting
quickly, usually at 31.2K, sometimes at 33.6K and sometimes at 28.8K.
The transmit rates for it were never as poor as they are now.
Any advice?
