hmm...I just looked at the web site. We'd only get a $4832 credit toward
the PM3. Just the modems alone (depending on make/model) are likely worth
that or more. i.e. The going rate for used MP/8's is about $1.2k. You
need 6 of them to make 48 ports...so that's $7200 worth of modems. Add in
$1.5k for 64 ports of multiport cards (ok...used value is probably $750),
and the deal starts to look more like a joke. And I don't get it. I can
keep my old stuff, sell it on the used market, or trade it to Livingston
for 50% of the going rate for used gear. hmmm It'd make a lot more sense
to sell the old stuff, buy some PM2's (do PM11's qualify:) and trade in
those...since they can be bought for considerably less than $4800.
