By the way, I forgot to mention in my previous post that you probably
don't need to mess with the optical bypass. It is a nice feature to use
because it allows you to take a device offline without breaking your FDDI
ring. As long as you never have two devices offline at the same time,
your ring would just wrap (that's what FDDI is for) and keep on running
even without the optical bypass.
