On Friday I upgraded our PM3 to ComOS 3.7. still using the V34 True
Digital Modems as we are UNFORTUNATELY in Europe :-( (hint hint)
All seemed to go smoothly apart from one user who called today to say
that they couldn't connect, they have however been connecting fine with
3.5c6 (I don't really like beta's unless it is absolutely necessary)
They were getting the good old 'you have been disconnected from the
computer you dialed' message in Win95, after trying the standard
re-install of DUN and playing with compression settings etc they were
getting the same message.
Their modem was (apparantly) a Tornado FM28I (never heard of it !!!) and
using the correct driver for Win95, in the end I got him to try setting
it to standard modem and guess what, it worked..... There was obviously
something strange in the default init string that ComOS 3.7 just
couldn't handle...
Well there you go...
Cheers
