Well, after seeing all of these negatives and positives for the USR, I had
to insert my $0.02.

The place I used to work at, arguably one of the larger ISPs in Nortern NJ,
has about 80 to 100 of the USR v.34 Sportsters. The only problem we had is
that d*mn chip replacement for the Spiral Death Syndrome back in June.
Other than that, and about a 5% DOA or failure within the first 1 month,
they have Modems that have been in closets for more than 8 months without
them ever seeing the light of day. Nor have they had any compatibility
issues (except for a crazy Supra which seemed to be an isolated instance).
If they made a USR Sportster Rack Mount, they would be selling them hand
over fist.
