Can you ping the ascend box from the host?
Have you set debug on the pm 3 to watch the ip and pap/chap negotiation?

You need to gimme some ip's and netmasks that you are setting. I would
GUESS that your 50 is not set up with the right netmask for the router
address ESPECIALLY since you say class C subnet.

I have found that it works BEST if the router (pm3) lives in its own
subnet separate from the local net. Then you make sure to route to the p
50 a DIFFERENT subnet of that class C.

On the P50, you have to use "/" notation to enter the correct netmask for
the gateway address.

You dont have this problem because netmasks are set in std 0.0.0.0
notation on the OR-U.
