Well, I've been around and around on this problem. Still no solution. My
customer has an Acer Aspire desktop with an Acer TAD-SP1.XX 28.8 modem.
He has a horrible problem with disconnects. He is able to connect to two
other providers, so I know it's not his phone line or his modem. Rather,
it must be his modem communicating with ours. We have both Microcom
ISPorte 33.6 rack modems and USR Sportster External 33.6 modems. He
connects randomly to either one, though upon recommendation I could direct
him to one or the other consistently. I'm assuming he needs an init
string to enable his modem to effectively connect with ours.
I'm about to lose him, folks. Thanks in advance for your help!
