Occasional PM3 connection problems

We stared seeing occasional problems with connections to the PM3's
here where the user gets connected but can't authenticate. Last night
one of our techs reported that a couple times when he was connecting in
with a terminal program that the unit did not come up with the sign on
message and "host:" prompt but instead just started by displaying
"login:" without anything in front of it. I get the funny feeling that
this is somehow related to some of the wierd ppp connection problems in
that if the PM3 is going straight to the "login:" prompt it may not be
able to catch authentication frames.
This is hapening on a group of 3 PM3's (5 PRI's in one group and one PRI as
another hunt group) that get close to being full at prime time (the last
modem shows 1 call). ComOS is 3.5.1b20. Any thoughts?
