First of all both combinations, 4x10MDM+1x8MDM and 6x8MDM, give you 48
modems in the Portmaster. The first only uses five out of six slots,
whereas the second option uses all six slots. The reason Livingston
suggests only filling up five slots is because they are working on
expansion cards which may do WAN, or more ethernet ports, etc. that you
can stick in the 6th slot.
