The PM has NO role in the modem to modem link. The PM-2 will officially
push 115200bps (unofficially 2304000 - but don't call support if this has
trouble. ;-) ) and that's all it cares about.

If you use, for example, a Courier I-modem with a BRI connection you can
use it as a server side X2 unit to provide a digital modem connection with
a PM-2.
