OR-HS and PM2E strangeness..

This one has been puzzling me for a couple of days. I thought I would post
the problem here, see if somebody would point out an obvious solution,
before giving Livington's tech support a call.. :)

We have a remote office, being routed a 30 host subnet of a classC. They
dialup with a Livingston OR-HS utilizing a 33.6K modem. The modem connects
to an identical one in our NOC, which is connected to a PM-2e... Everything
works great, except, when a user on one of the machines FTP's across the
network, the link randomly ceases to function.

The modems are still connected, the routes are still active on either side
of the link, but no traffic gets across. The even stranger part is this
only happens with this one machine, and with one particular program,
(WS_FTP lite I believe). Using the WS_FTP program, there seems to be about
a 75% chance that the network link will go south. Using the Win95 command
line FTP client there is no lockup, the network continues along happily.

Oh course, the obvious solution would be to tell them not to use WS_FTP, but
that seems rather the kludged solution... :)

Anybody have any ideas what may be going on there? :)

Aluve, Warren
