This is curious... I just disabled ALL compression on one of our Microcom
28.8P's connected to a PM2e.... and my ping times are coming in as ~140ms
with a 33.6k connect.... So this leads to believe on of two things:

a) the small dictionary size is causing expansion, rather than compression
of data.... or...
b) this isn't a compression problem at all

any thoughts?
