The protool used is a proprietary Livingston protocol, but it works very
well. We're using it in three cases now. The trick is *both* ends of
the link have to be Livingston equipmetn (The Office router with one
PCMCIA port and one serial port works *very* well for the customer end).
Also, there is some software for a Linux box (I think it's called EQL)
that can talk the Livingston protocol.
