Portmaster Routing Question

We just got another /24 from UUNET, which we would like to have our USR
Total control server utilize as its assigned ip pool.

USR TC is 208.206.76.15

I added the following to our router (208.206.76.1)

ip route 208.214.44.0 255.255.255.0 208.206.76.15

then on the USR TC I did

add route 208.214.44.0/24 208.206.76 15 1
set assigned 208.214.44.1

This DOES assign them IP's from the new /24 (208.214.44.0) but does NOT
create the routes. If i do "set assigned 208.206.76.100" to put things
back the way they were before, then everything works just fine.

does the usr have to have an ip on the same /24 as its assigned ip pool?

what could I be doing wrong?
