One is fine.

A single POTS port, with a real feature set would be very useful for many
applications where I now recommend the Pipeline and Gandalf products. At
a minimum, POTS should support call bumping, transfer, three way, caller-ID
and have a 3+ REN ring generator.
This'd be especially handy for attaching an analog modem between the POTS
and serial port, so one could use a single ISDN line in an office for
dial-out to the internet and dial-IN from a home analog line.
A real dream would be if the POTS was a daughterboard slot that could
be swapped out with a digital modem card :-)
