Just to follow up on my earlier posting, it appears to be a limitation of
the Bitsurfr-Pro (and perhaps ISDN modems in general). E.g. A bitsurfr-pro connected to an asynchronous port cannot _receive_ MLPPP calls. It can dial-out MLPPP only. The symptoms are that it fails to authenticate, presumably because the incoming PPP packets are missing the expected bits that asynch adds.

The Bitsurfr could recieve an MLPPP call if it were attached to a synchronous
port. The BSPro can do the asynch to sync conversion on outgoing call placement, but not the reverse on incoming call reception.

It could be true for other ISDN modem models as well, but I don't have any
data. Anyone out there _receive_ MLPPP (2B) calls using an ISDN modem
connected to a PM2E asynch port?
