The pmcrash.c program is about as ancient as they get. There used to be
(in pre-3.1 or so ComOSs) a bug whereby a 'break' signal sent at the telnet
prompt would cause the portmaster to reboot. It wasn't really a bug, because
it was intentional, but not to be used to crash the thing remotely. :)

It's been fixed for a loooong time now, and almost any Livingston product
you stumble across will be completely immune to it. You also can't crash
the PMs with weird IP packets, at least to my knowledge - the "win 95 ping"
bug most certainly doesn't work.
