One day, a Student went to his Teacher and asked with some dismay,

"Master, I decided not to support a legacy feature to save time
getting to market with newer technologies, but people complained. So
to make them happy I added support for the legacy feature. Then
people complained about the delay. Master, why?"

The Teacher puffed at his pipe for a moment, then replied,

"My son, when was the last time two technical people agreed on what is
best, let alone several hundred?"

And the Student was enlightened.
