hi PMr's...

im using a pm2e-30 and configuring it for dial-out...
the dial-in location is configured as follows:
Name: dial1
type: manual
protc/l: PPP/IP
destination: negotiated
netmask: 255.255.255.0
max port:1
dial grp: 5
routing: brdcst listen

chat --> chat script..

i was able to dial to the host and connect
but the thing is how do i access it now...
i cant even telnet

oh... my setting for the particular port is:

Port Type: Network/Device
Host Device: Network
network Type: Dial In&Out
dial Grp: 5
Modem Cntl: Enabled
Baud Rt: Host overriden
Host: Default
Device Service: Telnet 23

now... suppose i want to use this connection...
how do i do it....

i tried nettty (there are no in.pmd in the platform im using DEC Alpha
on DU3.2) and changing the settings of the data service to portmaster
and using device /dev/ttyp4 (on host machine) and using port 6000.
It loads to mem but i don't know how to use it...

BTW, do u have to use say s4 so that it links to /dev/ttyp4 of the host
machine...

also, i want to establish a network addr relative to the port from the
host machine... how do i do that.. do i have to launch another pppd in
the host machine...

Any, help will be appreciated...

Also, i saw that portmaster launches ppp much earlier than usual...
i made my caht script expect a !} so that the server being called will
launch ppp first.. otherwise ill get a S1:LCP apparent Loop.. any
patches for this...

TIA
