We have a "regional" or "private" telco in our service area that has
gotten into the internet access business. Their access package starts at
%5.95/month. I can't justify billing that amount. Their advertising
budget for this season exceeds my entire equipment budget since I went
on-line 16 months ago and I have two offces, DEC Alpha, Portmasters, high
speed modems, etc. There isn't enough business (read: population) in our
service area to justify the return on their expenditures. Preditory
practices? Maybe, but I don't care. Every dollar they spend on
advertising is one that I don't have to spend. My business has increased
dramatically since they've started educating people about the 'net.

Regards,

Steve
