Modem power supplies

Question for you ISPs out there with 30 or more modems:

What are you using for power supplies for your modems (individual modems)?
It becomes unrealistic to use those little ac adapters after a point.

I built a power supply for my modems which require 10vac at 500mA each. The
problem is this (let's see if I can explain it):

The output from the supply is 'split' into 4 output ports, and each port is
fused separately. Hot is fused, and neutral is common. Each port is designed
to accomodate 10 modems, thus I have a 6 amp fuse for each port. The snag now
is that if one of the fuses blow, the modems still get power through the
neutral of the power supply and the shield conductor of my PM25. This is bad
on two accounts:
1) I don't like significant quantities of current coursing through
my PM25, even if it is though the ground conductor

2) A single defective modem can bring down the whole bank of modems,
or the modem will just catch fire, which will bring down the bank
of modems shortly, not to mention the Portmaster, and everything
else.

Has anyone dealt with this and come up with an elegant (and cheap) solution?
