Hi Mike,
I have much the same configuration you have and I am able to get my
modems to connect with no problem. I'm not familiar with an:

> add modem life "motorola" 115200 "AT&F&C1&D2S7=60S0=1&W\r^OK"

The add modem command is not in the Portmaster Users guide so I can only
tell you what I did.

AT &F1 S0=1 &W
AT M0 &W
