ISDN ?

Hi folks,

In the same month ISDN will become available at both my POPs, and
Livingston will offer an ISDN card for my PM2E's. So I placed an
advance order with my Livingston supplier and ordered some ISDN lines
(simple BRIs) from NYNEX.

Yesterday NYNEX said they won't install the ISDN until they see a
'spec sheet' on the equipment I'm going to use with them. Is this
normal? Or are they just stalling?

I'm sort of vagely aware that not all ISDN is the same, but I'd kind
of imagined it as a case of NYNEX installing whatever it offered and
my flipping some dip switches on whatever gear I was using - i.e., I
should be asking NYNEX for a spec sheet on their ISDN, not them asking
me for one on my gear. The notion that I won't be able to use other
gear if I want, because NYNEX has installed ISDN tailored to what I
have initially, is a bit ... well, offputting.

Anyway, info@livingston.com faxed me what she had - it was probably on
the web site anyway, but it doesn't look like anything that could be
called a 'spec sheet'.

Any guesses as to what NYNEX is really looking for - and what the
answers are?
