- E&M Immediate Start
- Foreign Exchange Station (FXS) Loop Start
Q2. Does the Lucent PortMaster3(TM)) support ground
start circuits?
A2. No.
Q3. Does the PM3 support pulse dialing?
A3. No, the PM3 supports Dual Tone Multi-Frequency
(DTMF). DTMT also is referred to as Touch Tone Dialing.
Q4. What framing and encoding options does the PM3

Q6. Can Primary Rate Interface (PRI) and Channelized-T1
be configured on the same PM3?
A6. Yes, with a two T PM3 one line could be configured
for PRI and the second line for channelized T1. The PRI must be connected to line0
due to clocking sensitivity. The PM3 clock source is external provided by the telco
switch.
Q7. Does the PM3 support DNIS (Dial Network Information
Services)?
A7. No, have the telco provider configure the circuit
to send 0 digits for most switch types and 1 digit for DMS-10 switches
Q8. Do you have to set the ISDN switch type when
configuring for channelized operation?
A8. No, ISDN switch type need not be configured for
channelized operation. It is only required for PRI.
Q9. Can the PM3 be configured for FXO operation?
A9. No, please refer to question #1.
Q10. Will the PM3 accept less than 24 time slots
(DSO's) per line as supplied by your telco?

A10. Yes, you can have as little as 1 time slot
or up to 24 time slots per line. the total number of time slots for a two T
PM3 is 48.
Q11. Can the time slots be configured for different
signaling schemes supplied by the telco?
Example: Time slots 1 - 10 configured for FXS, Time slots 11 - 24
configured for Wink Start.
