Hi,
Linux makes a great low end BGP router. Interfaces are extremely
cheap. I used linux as a BGP router with great success, also lots of tools
to examine packets, full firewalling and other aspects makes it a reasonable
choice for routing with full tables. I recommend that you use about 128 MB
of memory for the Linux box (overkill yes) but it is a capable and stable
router.
