I've never used either of the above products, but I know how NAT works.
If you are using NAT then you'll probably have a static porthandler for
SMTP for *incoming* SMTP mail (i.e. anything the router sees on port 25
gets sent to the mail server on the LAN). Make sure that this is only
being applied to incoming traffic (from internet->lan) and not the other
way round.
Have you tried telneting to an internet mailhost on port 25 from one of
the client machines on the LAN?
