Let me see if I can fill in the blanks....

>:Order the DigitalChannelService & number of channels you need.

>:Order a point-to-point T1 for each 24 lines from the remote to your NOC

>So this is 2 t1's, right?

YES - One from the CO to the remote location with CT1 "AND" one Point-to
point from remote to your NOC to backhaul the CT1 on.

>:Run a crossover cable from one smartjack to the other

>t1's. One a ct1 and one a backhaul.

You do need a crossover cable, that you telco should be able to tell you
how to build. MAKE SURE THAT BOTH T1'S ARE CONFIGURED EXACTLY THE SAME.
AMI & D4 = AMI & D4 or B8ZS & ESF = B8ZS & ESF

This would be cheaper, but we don't have 24 hour access to our remote
sites, and having all of our equipment in the NOC makes our insurance
cheaper. Not having to drive 125 miles round trip at midnight to cold boot
or net boot a PM3 is worth the extra expense. You need to be able to
justify it yourself.

To even confuse matters even more... With GTE - If you are a CLEC (getting
discounted services) you could co-locate your equipment at the remote CO's
and have no remote spot to rent. If you are an ISP (paying full price for
services) you cannot co-locate, and have to find a REAL location to place
the telco equipment.
