Subject: (PM) Modem Manufacturer's/Lucent conformity....
Hey Everybody,
We are currently running ComOs 3.8.2c2 on our PM-3. We will continue
to support Livingston and their products, as we feel confident as well
as comfortable with their products and support as a top company.
However, the ongoing issue involving incompatibility with client end
modems vs. the PM-3's is notably a BIG problem for many!! We do have a
suggestion to the problem with these troublesome modems ie. (LT Win
modems, HCF Rockwell's, USR win modems) ect... Why not have these client
modem manufacturers get together with Livingston to help resolve the
conflicts between the client modems and Livingston's products? After
all, they the (client modem manufacturers) are the companies that
designed the modems, why should they not be more responsible and feel a
need to be more supportive of these issues as Livingston has been? We
see this as the biggest road block to tottal resolving the problems, as
it is unfair and in most cases impossible to expect the customer of an
ISP to be responsible for upgrades on their modems. Any comments,
suggestions or feedback is more than welcome and encouraged.... Thank
you kjc
