We're handeling the 'on demand' calls only like this:
a) We're give the user a fixed IP-Address and a location switched to 'on =
demand'.
b) The customer is using a router who's capable to do a dialback only on =
D-Channel signaling (which our telco is not charging) itself.
c) The portmaster is getting the incoming call, authenticate it against =
the location and connects, routing the packets to this connection... The =
call originating from the portmaster is disconnected without a real =
connection... end of story. It works with MPPP or pure PPP. We've about =
a dozend customers who work with this configuration...
The problem is, that the time difference between the incoming call and =
the dialback of the router should not be longer than a few seconds and =
the router didn't actual accept the call coming in, it has to react only =
on the D-Channel input. The two brand we've found acceptable are Zyxel =
(Prestige 128 or 100) or Shiwa-ISDN-Router, where the Shiva-Routers are =
not as stable as Zyxel.... It SHOULD work with Cisco (7xx, 100x) too, =
but we've never tested it.
