(PM) RT328 DOVBS call problem

I have several customers with netgear RT328 routers. I have them dialing
into us using 56K DOV and they are able to connect most of the time.
However, many times the router seems to lock up and not allow them to get
connected to us. Usually they need to reset the power on the router and then
everything will work OK for a while.

I've noticed a consistent error in the router's logfile shown below.

0 309d39 2e PDI1 WARN dialer Outcall failed. chan<1> cause<0>

I've emailed Bay about this problem but them said cause<0> is a non-descript
error and to check with the phone company to see if the line is OK. Sprint
checked the line and said everything looks good to them.

Anyone got an idea on what the problem might be?
