Re: (PM) "Wink Start, Immediate Start, Loop Start" Which is best to

Interestingly, when I installed our first PM3, I told the telco to use
wink start, as suggested in Lucent's provisioning guide on their
website. I went ahead and configured my PM3 for wink, and everything
worked fine. Well, a few months ago, when we added our second CT1, we
were having trouble getting it to work. I asked the telco technician
which signalling method he had set. He checked it, and said it was
immediate, and that it was identical to the setting for our original
CT1. Anyway, the problem with the new T1 ended up being a mis-wired
jack, and not the signalling, but it turns out that I had been running
with my PM3 set to wink, and the telco switch set to immediate for
several months with no problems. I recently switched the PM3 to
immediate to match the switch settings, but really haven't noticed any
difference. Of course I wouldn't recommend running with different
settings on the switch and the PM3. I just wonder if it really makes
much difference which setting you use. My PM3 seems to work fine on
immediate.
