:Hello, all. I have a PM2ER currently doing nothing but routing a T1. I
:have two fully-loaded PM3s on the T1, plus a few Frame-Relay subnets. My
:question is, should I move the routing to one of the loaded PM3s using the
:Sync card, or is the 2ER with no modems capable of handling the load? I
:have seen discussion recently to the effect that the 2ER probably can't
:handle it, but I didn't get from the messages if it was actually handling
:any modems at the time.
Yes move it for a few reasons. 1. The 2eR is running old code. 2. The sync
card can handle it no problems. 3. It is easier to administer the sync t1
card if it is in a pm 3 box. 4. You can save an ip number. 5. The 2eR is old
technology. 5. Why use a term server with a wan port rather than a router to
do what you want? The sync t1 card is a router that is just getting power
and connection from the backplane of the pm 3.
:Also, does anyone know if there are SNMP values I can check on the 2ER and
:the 3 for CPU load? That would help us make a reality-based decision
:instead of guessing.
I dont think you can query cpu load on any pm products.
