The first mesg was from PM2 and second one with PM3....
Need to sleep.... Typing wrongly.... :-)
My concern the entire mesg with PM3 (in all 45 tests with
different kind of modems) is only "LAPM/V42BIS"...?

I though you said the above was when you dialed with a PM2. The
COnnect
message you see on the dialing side is generated by the dialing
modem.
