I heard the same thing... I forget who from... but I don't know anyone
at Lucent, or anyone that would know anything for sure. All I've heard is
rumors.

I can live without the PM4 (too expensive for my tastes, and I probably
will never need the port density it provides), but I hope they don't kill
the PM3.

The rumor I heard was that they (after the merger) would kill the PM4 and
the Ascend Max... and keep the PM3 and the high-end Ascend boxes (TNT?).

Again, strictly rumor... but it's quite interesting. I'll bet we won't
know for sure for quite a long time yet.
