You are also wrong that ONLY the modem code was worked on. Where did
you think the 3.9beta come from? Ever heard of source code branches?
This new modem code was simply incorporated into the 3.8.2 branch. Lucent
could very well have rolled it into the 3.9beta branch, etc.
