ok, since the cat is out of the bag, beta is over, and I assume I can talk
outside of my NDA about performance. Modem code in 3.8.2c2 seems to be a
hella lot better over 3.8 and 3.8.2, our helpdesk phone hasn't been
_constantly_ ringing off the hook with HCF and disconnect problems. My
tech staff any I are _very_ glad to see work done on HCF modems.
(alas, the decrease could be attributed to a number of other factors,
i.e. the huge fallout of customers with problems that we lost over modem
issues in the previous months, or due to it being springtime and people
are actually getting outside now)
I must admit that Lucent has finally put forth an intense effort to squash
modem problems. Being the pessimistic skeptic (sp) that I am, the code
still isn't perfect, but it has seemed to make some major improvements
over previous versions for us anyways... time will tell what creeps up.
