That won't work with the 33.6 Acura because:

1) AT+MS= is not a valid command in that chipset
2) You've got the syntax wrong anyway (use commas, not dots to separate
the values in a +MS string).

Because the modem is rejecting the command.

Try varying the number of commas, from 1 to 5. 3 worked for me.
